Learning new skills at Holder House

When you become part of the Holder House family, you join our quest to help everyone be the best person they can. From doing simple acts of kindness to training in brand new skills to help yourself and others, we aim to help you become the best you can be too.

The training and educational courses offered at Holder House are designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills and experience needed to access employment, enterprise or become more skilled at the things you want to do well.

Training for volunteers, carers and people attending Holder House are delivered in partnership with Training in Care, whom we have worked with for several years. Training for apprentices are offered through Tyne Coast College (formerly known as South Tyneside College).

As much of our training as possible is based on live project work. Wherever possible we offer work based experience through projects such as making raised beds, concreting, dry stone wall building, garden fencing, etc. All our training is delivered by experienced, appropriately qualified and DBS vetted staff.
